This is it… the one you heard about. The first annual DIY Street Fair takes place in late September in the Southeast quadrant of 9 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue in Ferndale, Michigan simultaneously with the 2008 Ferndale Fine Arts Festival.
The DIY Street Fair is a free 2 day Ferndale event that features artists, hand-made crafters, local and national businesses, groups and organizations musicians, local restaurants, michigan brewers, etc who live and work with a DIY attitude.
Some of the highlights include: A main stage featuring live performances by original bands whose self-produced and/or self-released merchandise will be available in a temporary local record shop during the fair. The beer garden will allow attendees to purchase and enjoy beverages from michigan-based breweries and culinary crafts from local restaurants. Street performers and exhibitions will appear throughout the weekend. And for the Kids… a beer-free area where they can see and experience hands-on, do-it-yourself crafts and enjoy special acts on the family stage.
